Our FirmFounded in 1950, D'Arcangelo & Co.,LLP now has five offices located in Poughkeepsie, Millbrook, Purchase, Utica, and Rome, New York. Our Firm is comprised of approximately 125 professionals. D'Arcangelo & Co., LLP is engaged in the practice of public accounting. Our practice embraces traditional accounting, auditing, and tax services, as well as consulting services. While offering a range of general services, certain partners, principals, and staff have also developed unique specialties in response to today's increasing needs. In addition to commercial and publicly held companies, our client base includes professional, medical institutions, industrial, nonprofit, and governmental organizations, as well as individuals. In addition to staff supervision, our partners are active in all phases of an engagement, from reviewing internal controls to meeting our client management, stockholders, and board of directors. Professional Activities and Training In addition to our client experience, the Firm’s partners and staff devote substantial time to improving themselves and servicing the profession. All audit personnel are required to complete a minimum of 40 hours of professional training annually. Partners and managers/in-charge accountants generally concentrate their training in their area of specialization, and this training is generally obtained from outside specialists. The Firm has been active in professional organizations with founding partner, A. Rick D’Arcangelo, serving as President of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants, Chairman of the New York State Board of Public Accountancy, and officer or board member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Other partners have served as presidents of Chapters and board members continue to serve as speakers in State Society training sessions and in-house staff training seminars. Quality Assurance The Firm is a member of the AICPA’s Division for CPA Firms. As a member of the Division for CPA Firms, we must undergo a rigorous peer review during which another CPA firm examines our operating procedures and issues an opinion as to whether those procedures are sufficient to assure that our auditing and accounting work meets industry’s standards. Our most recent peer review in 2007 resulted in an unqualified opinion. Our quality control procedures require that reports issued be subjected to review and approval by the Quality Control Department. All reports that leave our offices comply with current accounting, SEC (if appropriate) and other statutory requirements. We are a member firm of the AICPA Government Audit Quality Center and the AICPA Employee Benefit Plan Audit Quality Center |
