Tax Accountant (Utica and Oneida, NY)

Our Firm is comprised of approximately 100 professionals with a practice that is growing dramatically. We have earned our reputation by recruiting only the best accounting and tax professionals.
We are in immediate need of tax accountants for our Utica and Oneida offices.
Our tax accountant's responsibilities include, but are not limited
to:
- Preparation of tax returns; business, individual, trusts, gift, sales tax and payroll
- Financial statement preparation, compilation, review and possibly some audit
- Tax planning and estimates on a transactional and annual basis
- Research tax issues using internet based research tools, and communicate the results of that research clearly
- Internal consulting on tax issues for our partners
- Keep current on new developments in tax law and regulations
Qualifications:
- An undergraduate or graduate degree in accounting
- CPA or tax experience preferred
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, be organized and prioritize
- Ability to work directly with clients and have a commitment to exceptional client service
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Working knowledge of ProSystem fx Tax, BNA Income Tax Planner, Excel, CCH and RIA Checkpoint internet tax research systems are preferred
Location: Utica and Oneida, NY

We are in immediate need of accountants to perform audits for our Utica offices.
Our audit professionals responsibilities include, but are not limited
to:
- Delivering quality service to clients
- Working as part of a team in performing financial statement audits and preparation
- Prepare systems review and testing
- Risk Assessment
- Analytical procedures
Qualifications:
- An undergraduate or graduate degree in accounting
- CPA or audit experience preferred
- Valid driver license is required as there is frequent same day travel for work at clients' offices using a personal vehicle. Also, occasional out-of-town travel may require overnight stay for work at clients
- Creative problem-solving ability
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Working knowledge of ProSystem FX Engagement is preferred
