Tiffany Wisniewski, audit manager based in our Poughkeepsie office, recently completed a year-long program with the Chamber Foundation of the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce. This program, titled Leadership Dutchess, consisted of monthly classes designed to cultivate strong leadership skills in each of its members. Topics included diversity, communication skills, project management and time management; the class was then tasked with putting these new skills to test in a final project, organizing a fundraiser event.

The proceeds of their fundraiser in May went back to the Chamber Foundation to benefit its various efforts, such as the annual scholarships it provides and future Leadership Dutchess classes. The hard work of Tiffany and her classmates paid off in a highly successful fundraiser. Members of the firm attended the Kentucky Derby-themed fundraiser in May to support Tiffany’s efforts. The class exceeded its fundraising goal of $25,000, with a grand total of $31,000. She graduated with her class in June, and speaks highly of her classmates.

Tiffany specializes in auditing as well as review and compilation engagements for non-profit and small business organizations. Tiffany is a board member of the Grace Smith House, as well as a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants.

This year the firm was a participating sponsor of the Hudson Valley Hot Air Balloon Festival. The festival attracted hundreds of people from all over the Hudson Valley to Dutchess County thanks to our friends at the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce. Among the festivities, our banner was hung on a brilliant rainbow balloon - see the pictures we snapped!

The Small Business Show - SOHO was held recently at the Oncenter Convention Center in Syracuse, NY.  It's the Networking Event for Small Business in Central New York.  The show can assist small businesses by expanding your business network and provide options for growth.  The event included over 130 displays of products, services, and resources for small businesses.

D'Arcangelo & Co., LLP participated in the Walk to End Alzheimer's once again. 

The corporate team placed third in fundraising for the walk in Utica, NY!

The Walk to End Alzheimer's is the largest event put on by the Alzheimer's Association to raise awareness and funds to fight Alzheimer's disease.

2016 New Partners Announced for the Utica/Rome Offices

D'Arcangelo & Co., LLP has recently promoted Eric Longway, Allison Greco, and Courtney Pearsall to Partner.  They have shown dedication to our clients and the Firm as well as a high level of technical ability and professionalism.  The Firm looks forward to their leadership.

Eric Longway, CPA, is a graduate of Utica College of Syracuse University and has been with D'Arcangelo & Co., LLP since 2001.  He specializes in tax preparation including individual, business, and estates and trusts, payroll audits, and health claim audits.  Eric is also skilled in computer assisted auditing techniques over large databases of electronic information.  Eric works out of the Rome, NY and Syracuse, NY offices.

Allison Greco, CPA, CVA, is a graduate of SUNY Institute of Technology at Utica/Rome and has been with D'Arcangelo & Co., LLP since 2007.  She specializes in multi-entity consolidated tax returns, multi-state corporate and individual tax returns, tax planning and income tax projections, estates and trusts, business valuations, payroll taxes, sales taxes, and other specialty taxes.  Allison has also received the designation of Certified Valuation Analyst, which enables her to work with clients in the areas of succession planning, buy/sell agreements, purchase or sale of a business, and estate and gift taxes.  Allison works out of the Utica, NY office.

Courtney Pearsall, CPA, is a graduate of Penn State University and has been with D'Arcangelo & Co., LLP since 2008.  She works on a broad range of audit engagements with a concentration in employee benefit plans.  Her responsibilities with these clients have included testing of expenditure and revenue accounts, detailed analysis of balance sheet accounts, report preparation, as well as internal control evaluation.  Courtney works out of the Utica, NY office.

The Westchester Office held their 2015 Annual Picnic Friday, August 14th at Veteran's Memorial Park in Harrison, NY.

It was a beautiful, sunny day for a picnic. IT Manager, Chris Campanile was the grill master for the day. The employees supplied a delicious variety of salads and desserts. The picnic was organized by Gina Magri, Amanda Smith-Britton, Chris Campanile and Karen Campanile. T-shirts were given to all, as seen in the group picture.

A fun time was had by all!
