D’Arcangelo Helps Spread Christmas Cheer

In early December, Partner Tricia Lucas, CPA announced the annual Kids Oneida “Adopt-A-Family” program to D’Arcangelo & Co., LLP employees.

“As the holiday season quickly approaches, it is a good time to reflect on how fortunate we are to have the ability to provide to our loved ones with a fulfilling holiday experience. It is also a good time to remember those who do not have the resources to provide the same holiday experience for their loved ones,” said Lucas in her memo that was sent to all employees of the Utica, Rome, and Oneida D’Arcangelo offices.

Our Firm participates annually in the Adopt-A-Family program through Kids Oneida. KO is a unique not-for-profit organization that provides traditional and non-traditional mental services to high-risk youth and their families in Oneida County. The Adopt-A-Family program was created to give families some extra support during the holiday season. Many families experience tremendous amounts of stress during this time and often do not have the financial resources to purchase gifts, necessities, or even food for their holiday tables. Families are “adopted” by local businesses, individuals, and families to provide them with gifts for children, weather appropriate clothing, food, and household necessities.

D’Arcangelo employees were challenged this year to have 100 percent participation in the program. They agreed to shop, wrap, and deliver gifts from the “Adopt-A-Family Wish List” to KO by December 19, 2012.

We can happily say that we achieved that goal of 100 percent participation and hope to have the same outcome with this program every holiday season.
