D’Arcangelo Sponsors “7 Habits” Event

On Friday, September 6, D’Arcangelo & Co., LLP sponsored the annual event hosted by CenterState CEO in Syracuse, NY: “7 Habits of 7 Highly Successful People.”

The audience learned a lot from the seven speakers and walked away feeling very inspired. Listed below are the seven speakers and what D’Arcangelo thought were the best habits or tips from each of them:

Deborah Stanley, President, SUNY Oswego & Chairman, CenterState CEO:

  • Let it steep. Don’t always be so fast to come up with an answer or make a conclusion about something. We are so used to our American culture and being quick with things, but sometimes that is not always the best way.

Tracey Higginbotham, Founder/President, Women TIES

  • Fail forward. If you don’t try, you can’t fail…but if you fail, you get up and you try again.

Jim Fox, CEO & Chairman of the Board, O’Brien & Gere

  • Be authentic. You have to figure out how to be creative and make something your own.

Laura Serway, Co-Owner, Laci’s Tapas Bar & Laci’s Real Estate Ventures

  • The best way to predict the future is to create it.

Dave Katleski, Founder & President, Empire Brewing Company

  • Pay it forward. We’re all a role model to someone. Figure out who and become a mentor.

Ginny Donohue, Founder, On Point for College

  • Use the “ask until” rule. Ask until you find the right person, ask until you find the right time, ask until you find the right answer, etc.

Seth Mulligan, Executive Director, The Clean Tech Center & Director of Venture Development, CenterState CEO

  • Use the word “no” whenever your plate is too full and you cannot take another portion. We are all so used to saying “yes” to everything.

D’Arcangelo Partner, Lou Kruth, opened up the event by saying a few words.
